venkatesh manoharan...... always the topper since his school days .... i met this guy in my college .. am proud to introduce u that venki belongs to cse too !!!.... it was the bus no 166 which made me and venki good friends from my first year... soft, humble, kind and humorous too ..... this guy has this huge potential to sleep for long hours... even when we all used to travel in the college bus this guy will doze off as soon as the bus leaves the campus.... morning journey's will be interesting ... we used to discuss abt subjects, current affairs and sports..... i still remember the day ... when it was exam tme and we were on the way to college.... when its exams i used to sit next to this guy in the bus... this incident narrates his determination towards wat he is focusing.... when we were crossing adyar he got stuck with one question ...."the chairman of infy is narayanamurthy .... who is the one next to him in position ...." he remembered that guys name but at that moment he cudn recollect that..... u wont believe till we reached tambaram he was thinking abt that question until he found the answer to be "nandan nilkani " ..... that day we had a semester exam ..... he never bothered abt..
infact the 8 semesters of my engineering career .... we have prepared together for each exam ... the first semester he came to my house... venki and myself along with some of my other friends prepared for the exams sitting in the terrace of my apartment.... later from the second sem .. i used to go to his house and we used to prepare from morning 10 till night 7 or 8 .... the way we prepared was really enjoyable... i had never felt the strain of going thru even the toughest subjects of all ... i used to go thru the topics and he used to patiently listen...
from the second year i had to stay alone and so when it was semester time mostly my breakfast and lunch wud be in his house... i owe a lot to his mom and dad for this.... venki's mom was too good in cooking and was so caring for us .... she used to ask us daily how much we had prepared and spend some time with us in the evening... morning by around 10 i used to reach his home .. we wud start preparing by 11 and it wud go uptil 2 then .. we wud take the break .. the break being specific at 2 cos at 2 the tamil movie wud start in sun tv... we wud watch the movie till 3 sometimes go to the nearby krishna sweets for some snacks .... the preparations wud start again by 4 and go up till 7 or 8 .....
every semester i wud rather give my credits that i scored to venki..... if i had not met this guy i wud have been in trouble preparing for my semesters... second semester preparations were interesting ... the maths and foreign lang subjects was common to all the depts... venki and myself used to prepare with another genius from mech dept.... k.balasubramaniam ..... hmm this guy was equally good as venki... we three of us used to solve maths together.... balu wud be very quick in solving them .... the days i enjoyed with balu,venki , jai, rathnavel, dheepak in the college bus will always remain colorful in my memories.... infact i am writing this article with the request from 2 jnrs who travelled with us in the college bus ... aditya and keshav... the nutty professors of srm....
chandru joined the party along with venki and myself during the 7th sem preparations... he used to be punctual in reaching venki's house on dot at 10.... we had one more solid company and so chandru and myself used to go thru the topics alternatively and venki used to patiently .... infact we have never prepared like others wud do .. i have known my friends preparing for the semesters sitting late night.... venki never believed in it and i accepted his thoughts in this... we used to wind up at the max by 9 .... we had tough times preparing for theory of computation and compilers subjects....
those days wont come back in life... i hope that i join venki once again during the ilp period at tcs for the second edition of this joint venture for exam preparations.... i pray god to give venki all good luck in his life.....

finally !! A tribute to the most deserving one . yeah da , venki was all what u said and even more in magnitude !! A quintessential person . His pristine clarity in thinking and his inspirational nature are a boon to his friends.
